Two families meeting for the first time
The seating is flexible, so we can lay the room out to mix the two families rather than seating them as two separate camps. If you would rather have an open layout with standing service and fewer seats, we will do that instead. Tell us how the event should feel and we will set the tables to match.
We work in Danish, English and Nepali
Engagement parties in Copenhagen often bring together guests from several countries, and this is usually the point at which language starts to matter. We deal with you and your guests in Danish, English and Nepali, so questions about the menu, the running order and the practical details do not have to go through a relative acting as interpreter.
A menu that does not have to compromise
Maiya Nepali Kitchen caters with set menus in Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and we are glad to build a custom menu if the two families eat differently. Allergies are accommodated when you tell us in good time.
Sound and a projector for the speeches and the photographs
A professional sound system and a projector are included, so the speeches carry to the back of the room and you can show the pictures from the day you said yes. There is no equipment to hire and no speaker balanced on a table.
From engagement to wedding in the same room
Plenty of couples hold both the engagement party and the wedding here, and the second one is far easier to plan: you already know the room, the staff and the kitchen, and you have seen what the hall looks like full of your own guests. Book a free visit and you can look at both at once.
Parking and an address guests can find
There is free on-site parking, and the hall is on Amager in Copenhagen S. That keeps things simple for guests arriving by car with older relatives or with boxes of decorations in the boot.

How many guests can you seat for an engagement party?
The hall seats 30 to 120 guests, with a minimum of 30. For a smaller group we can host you in the Maiya Nepali Kitchen restaurant instead.
Can we hold both the engagement party and the wedding with you?
Yes, and many couples do exactly that. Write to us with both dates if you already know them and we can discuss the two together.
Can we choose the seating layout?
Yes. The seating is flexible and we set the room around how the event should run: long tables, round tables, or a more open layout with room to move.
Can you build a menu that suits two different families?
Yes. Alongside the set Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond menus we are happy to create a custom menu. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and allergies and dietary needs are accommodated.
What languages do you work in?
We work in Danish, English and Nepali, both in the planning and on the day.
Is there sound for speeches and music?
Yes. A professional sound system and a projector are included in the hall fee, so speeches can be heard and photographs shown without hiring anything in.
What are the options for drinks?
You can take no drinks package, add a soft drinks package, or bring your own drinks for a small charge per guest.

Catering by Maiya Nepali Kitchen
Every event is catered in-house by Maiya Nepali Kitchen. Choose a set menu from Silver to Diamond, or ask us to build a custom menu around your guests. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and we plan around allergies and other dietary needs when you tell us early. Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price.
All prices are per person and include VAT. Your total is the hall fee plus your menu, plus a drinks option if you want one.
