About Maiya Party Hall

Maiya Party Hall is one hall on Højdevej in Copenhagen, with its own kitchen in the same building. That single fact shapes almost everything about how we work: the people who cook your food, set your tables and clear up afterwards are the same team, in the same place, on the same day.

We seat 30 to 120 guests, we cater every event ourselves through Maiya Nepali Kitchen, and we work in Danish, English and Nepali. What follows is what we are, in plain terms, so you know who you are dealing with before you send an enquiry.

One hall and one kitchen, under the same roof

Plenty of venues rent you an empty room and leave you to assemble the rest: a caterer from one company, a sound system from another, staff from a third and a cleaning crew booked for the morning after. It works, but every seam between those suppliers is a seam where something can go wrong, and it is you who has to manage them.

We built the opposite. The hall and Maiya Nepali Kitchen are the same business in the same building, so the food does not travel, the timings are agreed between people who see each other every day, and there is one number to call if anything needs changing. When your starters are meant to come out during the speeches, that is a conversation in a corridor rather than a phone call to a van.

It also means the room arrives ready. Standard decoration, a professional sound system, a projector, staff, cleaning and a seating layout planned around your guest list are all part of the hall fee, and you can see exactly what that costs before you contact anyone.

The food

Maiya Nepali Kitchen cooks Nepali food for a Copenhagen crowd, and a party menu here is a proper spread rather than a plated compromise: buffet service, food that keeps coming, and dishes people go back for. Our set menus run from Silver through Gold and Platinum to Diamond, and there is a dedicated Vegetable menu as well.

Nothing about that is fixed. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, allergies and dietary requirements are planned for when we know in advance, and if you want the spread built around a particular family tradition or a specific set of dishes, we will price a custom menu instead. Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price, which matters when half your guest list is under twelve.

If you are feeding a mixed room, and most celebrations are mixed rooms, tell us who is eating what when you send your numbers. A buffet planned around the real guest list is the difference between everyone eating well and half the table eating rice.

What the hall is like

Room for 30 to 120

The hall seats between 30 and 120 guests. Below 30 we can usually host you in the restaurant instead, so a smaller family gathering is still worth asking about.

Laid out around your day

Seating is flexible: long tables for a wedding, rounds for a reception, rows and a screen for a company presentation. Tell us the shape of your evening and we will lay the room out to match it.

Sound and screen included

A professional sound system and a projector come with the hall, so speeches, playlists, slideshows and video greetings all work without hiring anything in.

Free parking outside

Parking on site is free, which is a small thing until you have eighty guests arriving within the same fifteen minutes on a Saturday evening.

The occasions we host

The neighbourhood

We are at Højdevej 59, 2300 København S, on Amager. It is a residential part of the city, close enough to the centre that guests coming in from elsewhere have a short journey, and quiet enough that a party does not have to compete with the street outside. Guests travelling by public transport should be given the full address, since Rejseplanen will route them door to door from anywhere in the region.

For the practical details of getting here, including parking and access, see the contact page.

Judge it for yourself

We are not going to print a wall of five-star quotes and ask you to take our word for it. A venue is easy to praise and hard to judge from a screen, and the only opinion that matters for your celebration is yours, formed standing in the room.

So come and see it. A viewing is free, takes about twenty minutes and is confirmed within 24 hours of you asking for one. Bring the person you are planning with, ask about the awkward details, and see whether the room feels like the place you want your photographs taken in. In the meantime you can look at photographs of the hall, read the questions other people asked first, or work out what your evening would cost.
