Party venue cost

What Does a Party Venue in Copenhagen Cost?

It is a hard question to get answered. Most party venues in Copenhagen publish no prices, ask you to fill in a form, and come back with a quote three days later, at which point you finally learn whether it was ever near your budget. We do it the other way round.

This page explains how a venue price is built up, what is included here, and what usually appears as an extra line elsewhere. The calculator on this page works out your own figure while you read. If you would rather see everything in one place, the numbers also sit on the pricing page.

Why Maiya

The price has three parts

A venue with food has three components: the hall, the menu and drinks. Here both the hall fee and the menu are counted per guest rather than as a flat room charge, and drinks are a choice. Once you know those three, you know the price, and there is no final fee waiting at the end.

The hall is charged per cover, not per hour

A cover is one seat at the table, and it is how a seated event is actually priced. Because the hall fee follows your headcount, you do not pay for an empty room when 45 people come instead of 90, and nobody watches the clock, because the fee is not hourly.

The menu is the biggest line

Food takes the largest share of the budget, and it is also the line you can move. Set menus run Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, with a Vegetable menu alongside. Stepping from one menu to the next is the simplest way to move the total without cutting the guest list.

Children aged 5 to 12 count as half

Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price. At a confirmation, a christening or a large family birthday that can be a quarter of the room, and it changes the arithmetic more than people expect when they budget on a headcount alone.

What usually costs extra elsewhere is included here

Standard decoration, a professional sound system, a projector, staff, cleaning and flexible seating layouts are part of the hall fee, and parking on site is free. Those are exactly the lines that appear as add-ons in a quote from an empty room, where you also source a caterer and a cleaner yourself.

Drinks are optional, and you can work the total out yourself

You can hold the event with no drinks package at all, take a soft drinks package, or bring your own drinks for a small charge per guest. All three land on a different total, and the calculator shows the difference once you pick a guest count and a menu. Food is the one thing that cannot be brought in: our own kitchen cooks it. When you are ready, send the enquiry from the same place.

Frequently asked questions

How is a party venue price built up?

The price is a hall fee per guest, a menu per guest and an optional drinks choice. Both the hall fee and the menu follow your guest count.

What does price per cover mean?

A cover is one seat at the table, meaning one guest. The price per cover is the cost for that guest, covering their share of the hall and their meal.

What is included in the hall fee?

Standard decoration, a professional sound system, a projector, staff, cleaning and flexible seating layouts are included, and parking on site is free.

Do children pay the full price?

No. Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price.

Do decoration, sound and cleaning cost extra?

No. All three are part of the hall fee rather than add-ons.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Yes, the hall is booked from 30 guests. Below that we lay tables for you in the Maiya Nepali Kitchen restaurant in the same building.

Can we save money by bringing our own food?

No. We cook every event in our own kitchen, so outside food is not an option. You may bring your own drinks for a small charge per guest.

What do drinks cost?

That depends on what you choose: no package, a soft drinks package, or your own drinks for a charge per guest. The calculator shows the difference between the three.

How quickly do we get a firm quote?

The calculator gives you the price straight away. If you send the enquiry, we reply within 24 hours, Monday to Sunday.
