There is one hall here and one wedding in it. The kitchen is in the same building and cooks while you celebrate, so nothing arrives from across town in the middle of your day and there is no second party sharing the room, the staff or the car park. Why Maiya
The hall is yours, and only yours, for your whole booking
On most days of the year, exclusive use is a nice detail. On a wedding day it is the difference between a room that belongs to you and a room you are borrowing. Nobody walks through, no other event is being set up behind a partition, and no bar closes on somebody else's schedule. It also means the photographs can be taken anywhere, and that a first dance is not competing with another party's playlist coming through the wall.
From the ceremony to the first course
The hardest hour of a wedding day is the one between the ceremony ending and the food arriving, when eighty people are standing about with nothing to do. Tell us where you are marrying and what time you expect to be finished, and we build the running order backwards from there: when the doors open, when guests are seated, when the first course lands. The start and finish times are agreed before the date and written into your offer, so the timings are not a conversation you are having on the morning itself.
The top table, and everything behind it
Long tables when there are speeches and everyone needs to see whoever stands up. Round tables when the conversation at each table matters more. A horseshoe when the room should face one point. We lay up to your plan rather than handing you a fixed arrangement, which also means we can seat the families who should not be next to each other apart, and put older guests near the door. Standard decoration is included and you are welcome to bring your own flowers, table settings, place cards and backdrop on top.
Speeches, music and the photographs on screen
A professional sound system and a projector come with the hall. The father of the bride can be heard at the back tables, the childhood photographs can go up on the screen, and none of it requires a hired technician. You can play your own playlist through the same system for the evening, and a DJ or a live band is welcome as long as you tell us in advance so the layout accounts for them.
One guest list, several ways of eating
A wedding puts two families and their friends in one room, and they do not all eat the same way. Maiya Nepali Kitchen cooks everything here, with set menus from Silver to Diamond and a custom menu when none of them fits. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian for the entire room rather than as a separate plate for a handful of people, and allergies and other dietary needs are planned for when we know in advance. Guests who are travelling, and a room that clears itself
Weddings pull people in from further away than any other occasion. Copenhagen Airport is on Amager, the same side of the harbour as we are, and parking on site is free, so relatives arriving by car stop at the door instead of circling the block in wedding clothes. It is about a fifteen minute walk from Lergravsparken station, and the nearest bus stop is a few minutes away on Kastrupvej. Professional staff work the day and the cleaning afterwards is included, so nobody from your family is stacking chairs at midnight.

Can we hold the ceremony here, or only the reception?
The hall is set up for the reception, which is the meal, the speeches and the party afterwards. Tell us where the ceremony is taking place and what time it finishes, and we plan the arrival and the first course around it.
How many guests can the hall seat for a wedding?
The hall seats 30 to 120 guests, with a minimum of 30. For a smaller wedding party we can lay tables for you in Maiya Nepali Kitchen, the restaurant in the same building.
How are the timings for the day agreed?
The start and finish times are agreed with you before the date and written into your offer, so everyone knows where they stand. Tell us the running order you have in mind, including when the speeches should fall, and we will work to it wherever we can.
Can we choose the seating plan ourselves?
Yes. Long tables, round tables or a horseshoe, whichever suits your day, and we set the room up to your plan. Send it to us in advance with anything we should know about who sits where.
Can we bring our own decoration?
Yes. Standard decoration is included in the hall fee, and you are welcome to bring your own flowers, table settings, place cards or backdrop. Tell us what you are planning and when you would like access to set it up.
Can we play our own music or bring a DJ?
Yes. A professional sound system is included and your own playlist can be played through it. If you are bringing a DJ or a live band, let us know in advance so we can plan the layout of the room around them.
Can the wedding menu be fully vegetarian, and can you handle allergies?
Yes to both. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian for the whole room, and allergies and other dietary needs are handled when we are told in good time. A custom menu is available if the set menus do not suit your families.
What do children cost at a wedding?
Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price. The hall fee applies per child as usual, so count them separately from the adults when you send your numbers.
Can we bring our own drinks for the wedding?
Yes. You can bring your own soft drinks and alcohol for a small charge per person, take the soft drinks package charged per person, or take no drinks option at all. All three are in the price table on this page.
How far ahead should we book a wedding date?
As early as you can. Saturdays go first, particularly through the summer, and there is only one hall. Enquiries and viewings are free, we reply within 24 hours, Monday to Sunday, and we work in Danish, English and Nepali.

Every event is catered in-house by Maiya Nepali Kitchen. Choose a set menu from Silver to Diamond, or ask us to build a custom menu around your guests. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and we plan around allergies and other dietary needs when you tell us early. Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price.
All prices are per person and include VAT. Your total is the hall fee plus your menu, plus a drinks option if you want one.
