Maiya Party Hall

Corporate event venue in Copenhagen for 30 to 120 people

A company dinner is not a meeting with dessert at the end. The formal part happens early, while everyone is still listening: the director says a few words, someone is thanked for twenty-five years, the year's figures go up on the screen. Then the evening has to loosen up, and the room has to survive the change without the whole party moving somewhere else at ten o'clock.

That is what this hall at Højdevej 59 in Copenhagen S is laid out for, for 30 to 120 people.

It is not a hotel conference suite, and we would rather say so plainly. There is one large room, the kitchen is in the same building, and the whole event sits on one agreement with one contact instead of a venue contract on one side and a catering contract on the other. If what you need is a daytime meeting rather than an evening, the meeting room page describes the same room in working hours, and every rate is published on the site so a budget can be built before anyone is asked to approve it.

Why Maiya

A company dinner is a party, not a long meeting

An annual party, a jubilee, a summer event or a Christmas dinner runs in two halves that need different things from a room. The first half is formal, seated and pointed at whoever is speaking. The second half is nothing of the sort. We lay the hall so the speeches land properly at the start and the floor opens up afterwards, which means the evening does not have to relocate to a second venue just as it gets going.

One supplier, one agreement, one contact

The hall, the food, the staff on the night and the cleaning afterwards all belong to the same booking, because the kitchen is in this building. Nobody is adding a room-hire quote to a catering quote to work out what the evening actually costs, and nobody is standing in reception on the day trying to reach a caterer about a delivery window. Whoever in your company has been handed the party deals with one contact here, from the first enquiry to the last table cleared.

The projector and the sound system are already in the room

A professional sound system and a projector come with the hall, so the year's numbers, an anniversary slideshow or a long service award need no hired equipment and no technician. A speaker can be heard at the back tables rather than only at the front three. Afterwards you can play your own playlist through the same system, and if the evening calls for a DJ or a live act, that is fine as long as you tell us in advance so we can plan the layout around them.

The room is yours, which matters when the news is internal

There is one hall and one event in it. No second party through the wall, nobody walking through to reach somewhere else, and no bar closing on another booking's schedule. If the evening includes a restructure, a farewell, a set of figures that are not public yet, or simply a speech that would be awkward with strangers listening, exclusive use stops being a nicety and starts being the reason you booked.

Feeding a whole staff, including everyone with a list

Maiya Nepali Kitchen cooks everything in the building, with set menus from Silver to Diamond and a custom menu when none of them fits. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, which for a workplace is a genuine option rather than two plates left at the end of a buffet, and allergies and other dietary needs are planned for when we are told in good time. Collect the requirements with the replies and send them with your final numbers. At a family day, children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price.

Colleagues can park at the door

Parking on site is free and Højdevej is outside the paid parking zone, so nobody arrives late having circled for a space or leaves early to deal with one. For colleagues driving up from the Ørestad offices or the airport side of Amager, we are on the same side of the harbour the whole way, and Copenhagen Airport is on Amager too when someone is flying in for the event. By public transport it is about a fifteen minute walk from Lergravsparken station, and the nearest bus stop is a few minutes away on Kastrupvej.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can you host for a corporate event?

The hall takes 30 to 120 people. A smaller department dinner is welcome too: the hall fee is billed for a minimum of 30 guests, while the menu and drinks follow your actual headcount, so it is still worth asking about.

Do you have a projector and a sound system for presentations?

Yes. Both are included in the hall fee, along with flexible seating layouts, so slides and speeches need nothing hired in. We are a party hall rather than a conference centre, though, so there are no breakout rooms, no whiteboards and no video conferencing equipment.

Can we use our own caterer?

No. Every event is cooked by our own kitchen in this building and outside catering is not brought in. In return the menu is built around your staff, any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and a question about what is in a dish is answered by the people who cooked it.

How do dietary requirements work across a whole department?

Send the list with your guest numbers rather than mentioning it on the night. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, allergies and other dietary needs are handled when we know in advance, and a custom menu is available if the set menus do not cover what your team eats.

Can we bring our own drinks to a company party?

Yes. You can bring your own soft drinks and alcohol for one flat fee for the whole party, set by group size. The other options, each priced per guest, are our unlimited soft drinks package with Cola, Cola Zero and water, and tap water only. All three are in the price table on this page.

What does a corporate event cost?

The price is a hall fee per person plus a menu per person, with a drinks option chosen on top. Every rate is in the table on this page, so the budget can be worked out before an enquiry is sent. At a family event, children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price.

Can we get the terms in writing before we commit?

Yes. You receive a written offer, and the deposit and the cancellation terms are set out in it, so whoever approves the spend can read them before anything is agreed. If your finance department needs particular details in the paperwork, tell us when you enquire.

What time does the event have to finish?

The start and finish times are agreed with you before the date and written into your offer. Tell us the running order you have in mind, including roughly when the speeches should happen, and we will work to it wherever we can.

Is there parking for colleagues driving in?

Yes, parking on site is free and Højdevej is outside the paid parking zone. The address is Højdevej 59, 2300 Copenhagen S, on Amager.

What languages do you work in?

Danish, English and Nepali. Running the whole booking in English is completely normal here, which helps at a workplace where not everyone speaks Danish.
