Can you bring your own catering to a Copenhagen venue?
No. You cannot bring your own catering here. Every event is cooked by Maiya Nepali Kitchen in the same building as the hall, and we do not work with outside caterers. If what you are looking for is an empty room you fill yourself, this is not the venue, and it is better to hear that now than after a viewing.

Almost everything else is yours. Your own soft drinks and alcohol are welcome for one flat fee that covers the whole party, and so are your own decoration, your own playlist and your own DJ. And if the reason you are searching for a bring-your-own venue is the price, stay for a minute. The sum below is rarely the one people have in their head.
Why Maiya
The empty hall sum, finished properly
Take 60 guests on a Saturday. Hall hire on its own around Copenhagen typically runs about 6,500 kr. for a Saturday, and end cleaning is often a separate line of 2,000 to 2,500 kr. That is roughly 8,500 kr. before anybody has ordered a plate of food, about 142 kr. a head. Outside party catering in Copenhagen runs roughly 250 to 350 kr. per cover for a served buffet, which puts the evening somewhere near 390 to 490 kr. per person. On top of that sits a deposit, commonly 3,000 to 10,000 kr., paid up front and returned only once the room has been handed back and passed. These are published market rates we looked up rather than quotes, so run the sum again on whatever figures you are actually given.
Compare it with the table further down this page
Here the hall fee is per guest and the menu is per guest, and no extra charge is waiting at the end. The rates sit in the price table further down this page, so you can add them up for your own headcount and hold the answer against that 390 to 490 kr. That is the comparison that decides anything, rather than the price of four walls. How a venue price is built up takes the three parts one at a time.
The line that never reaches the invoice is the work
Money is only half of it. The other half is who does the job. Bring your own catering and somebody has to choose the caterer, agree a delivery window, keep the food hot until it is served, hire the crockery, lay the tables, serve, and clear the room afterwards. At your own party that somebody is usually you, or a relative who arrived as a guest. That is not a criticism of the model. It is simply the half that is missing from the headline price.
One kitchen, one bill
Hall, food, staff and clearing up sit on one agreement and one invoice. There is nothing to coordinate between a letting agent, a caterer and a cleaning firm, and no argument at nine in the evening about whose problem it is when something needs changing. The food is carried into the hall from the kitchen in the same building, so it arrives hot instead of crossing the city in insulated boxes.
The drinks genuinely are bring your own
You may bring your own soft drinks and your own alcohol for one flat fee that covers the whole party, rather than a price per bottle or per guest. The fee is banded by group size: up to 30 guests, 31–50, 51–80 and above 80. You decide exactly what stands on the table. If you would rather skip the shopping and the fridge space, take the unlimited soft drinks package with Cola, Cola Zero and water, priced per guest. Tap water only is the third option, also priced per guest. Bringing your own food as well? Our plates and cutlery can be added for a charge per guest, and we handle the washing up. All the rates are in the table further down.
Decoration, music and your own DJ
Standard decoration comes with the hall, and your own colours, flowers or table settings are welcome on top of it. Music runs through the sound system already standing in the room, whether that is a phone playlist or a DJ, and your own DJ or a live act is fine when we know in advance. The food is ours. The rest of the evening is yours. Look at the hall and the menus, or send us your date.
Frequently asked questions
Can we bring our own food?
No. Every event is cooked in our own kitchen in the same building, and no outside food comes into the house. That holds even when the food would come from a restaurant or a caterer you know well. What you can change is the menu itself: it is built around your guests, and any menu can be made fully vegetarian.
Is it not cheaper to handle the food ourselves?
Usually not, once the sum is finished. An empty hall around Copenhagen typically costs about 6,500 kr. on a Saturday plus 2,000 to 2,500 kr. for end cleaning, and outside party catering runs roughly 250 to 350 kr. per cover. For 60 guests that lands near 390 to 490 kr. per person, plus a deposit to find up front. Add our rates together in the table on this page and compare the two yourself.
Can we bring our own drinks?
Yes. Soft drinks and alcohol may both be brought in for one flat fee for the whole party, banded by group size, instead of a price per bottle or per guest. The other options are the unlimited soft drinks package and tap water only, both priced per guest.
Can we bring our own cake?
No. Dessert is food, and every dish served here is cooked in the building, so a cake from outside does not come in either. Tell us in the enquiry what you had in mind and the kitchen will build it into your menu.
What if we have already booked a caterer?
Then we are not the right venue, and it is better to say so now than three weeks into a conversation. We cook every event ourselves and there is no hall-only booking. If you are committed to a caterer, an empty room is what you need.
Can you recommend a venue if we want to do it ourselves?
We do not point at one particular place, but the model is real and it is a fair choice. Empty halls are let across the Copenhagen area, including on Amager, in Hvidovre and on Frederiksberg. Before you sign, ask each one five things: what the fee covers on your specific day of the week, whether cleaning is included or a separate line, how large the deposit is and when it comes back, whether there is a kitchen you may actually use or only a room to set dishes down in, and what time the party has to end.
Is there a cleaning fee or a sound system fee here?
No. Standard decoration, a professional sound system, a projector, professional staff on the day, cleaning afterwards and flexible seating layouts are part of the hall fee. There is no separate cleaning charge and no separate sound charge.
Can we bring our own decoration and our own DJ?
Yes to both. Your own decoration is welcome alongside the standard decoration, and your own DJ or live act is fine when we know in good time. Music can run through the hall's own sound system.
We have allergies and dietary needs. Can you handle those without an outside caterer?
Yes, and it is easier because the kitchen is ours. We can tell you what is in a dish without ringing a subcontractor first. Any menu can be made fully vegetarian, and allergies and other dietary needs are planned around when we hear about them in good time.
What does an event here cost once everything is counted?
A hall fee per guest plus a menu per guest, and the drinks option you choose. All the rates are in the table on this page, and the calculator in the form adds them up for your guest count. Children aged 5 to 12 pay half the menu price. Parties under 30 guests are welcome too, but the hall fee is billed for a minimum of 30 guests, while the menu and drinks follow your actual guest count.
