Christening Venue in Copenhagen
A christening is a morning event that turns into lunch. You arrive from the church with a baby who has been awake too long and a party in which the youngest guest is nought and the oldest is past eighty. What you need is not a high-tempo function room but a place where the food is already waiting and where it is quiet enough for the baby to sleep.
Our hall at Højdevej 59 in 2300 Copenhagen S seats 30 to 120 guests, and the food is cooked in our own kitchen in the same building. Parking on site is free and cleaning is included. See the room in the gallery, or book a free visit and look at it in daylight.

Why Maiya
The day carries straight on from the church
When the family arrives from the service, everything is already standing. Tables are laid, the decoration is up and the food is ready to serve, so nobody has to go home and set a table with a baby on one arm. We are happy to host christening lunches during the day, which is exactly the slot many venues do not sell.
Quiet enough for the smallest guest
Christening parties are quiet parties. The hall is a single room, and the layout can be arranged so there is a calmer end where the baby can be put down and where a parent can step slightly away from the table without missing the speeches.
Space for pushchairs and for getting around
Free parking at the door means you unload the pushchair, the gifts, the cake tins and the christening gown on site instead of carrying them three streets. Inside, you choose the layout, so there is room for guests with pushchairs and older guests to move between the tables comfortably.
The cooking is already done
Maiya Nepali Kitchen prepares everything at this address. No one in the family stands in a kitchen the day before, and nobody is coordinating a delivery while you are in church. Set menus run Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, there is a Vegetable menu, any menu can be fully vegetarian, and allergies are handled with notice. See how the menus are put together.
A naming ceremony is just as welcome
If you are holding a naming ceremony rather than a church christening, the day here is the same. It is about gathering the family around a new name, and how you arrived there is your business, not ours.
Family travelling in for the day
Christenings often bring relatives in from further away. Højdevej 59 is on Amager and Copenhagen Airport is on the same island, so guests flying in do not have to cross the city first. We speak Danish, English and Nepali if the party is a mixed one.
